the native x milwaukee ballet

I'm happy to announce that I am collaborating with Milwaukee Ballet to celebrate their Spring Series coming April 3-6 at the Marcus Center for Performing Arts. I'm excited about this! I love that the Milwaukee Ballet aesthetic focuses on inspiration and quality - something that I hope to strive here as The Native. It's a great way to get involved with the community and support some local and national talent! I'm all about that.

Milwaukee Ballet has been kind enough to host a giveaway for one voucher (two tickets) to attend the Spring Series performance on The Native! How great is that? Be sure to enter the giveaway by Friday using the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the post. It's mandatory that you leave a comment to the question, "Who would you take to see the Spring Series by Milwaukee Ballet?" It's that easy! Like and follow Milwaukee Ballet on Facebook and Twitter for more entries.

Bonus? All readers will receive 20% off tickets by calling Milwaukee Ballet at 414.902.2103 and mentioning the promo code: The Native. Get your friends & family together and make a night of it!

Here is a little more information about the performance:

Spring Series showing April 3-6 at the Marcus Center for Performing Arts

Spring Series treats Milwaukee to choreographers who have fans all across the country. In their much anticipated return, Matthew Neenan and Amy Seiwert will premiere two new works tailored specifically to the strengths of the Milwaukee Ballet dancers. Venezuelan choreographer Vincente Nebrada puts a twist on traditional dance in "Our Waltzes", featuring live piano accompaniment. Three pieces. Two premieres. One unforgettable experience.

black | white

shirt: Old Navy jacket: Kohl's pants: H&M shoes: Target photos: Mann Frau

This has been my new go-to outfit. These pants are my new favorite thing, add a different color shirt each time and you got yourself an easy outfit for work.

As I said last week, I was planning on doing nothing during the weekend, and I stayed true to those plans. It was great! I laughed when I read Julie's blog about her doing absolutely nothing over the weekend and how she felt like a grandma. That's my life roughly 95% of the time. Julie, we should be grandma's together soon! :)

shirt: Gap skirt: H&M shoes: Forever 21 necklace: Sarah Chloe photos: Mann Frau

Look, ma! No tights! It was fun to ditch the tights for about two days - let those winter white legs blind everyone!

For some reason, daylight savings has hit me hard this year. I haven't been able to sleep at night, so during the day I am exhausted. Needless to say, I am looking forward to doing absolutely nothing this weekend, besides getting my stitches out and sleeping. Oh, and probably do my taxes (I've been avoided it).

Enjoy the weekend - xx . the native

jumpsuit: Forever 21 jacket: Kohl's necklace: Zara shoes: J.Crew rings: H&M photos: Mann Frau

My jumpsuit is back. This time, styled a bit differently. I recently picked this jacket up at Kohl's. I was looking for an inexpensive faux-leather jacket for awhile & one that actually fit well (not cropped or too boxy looking). This one fits all of those requirements.

After talking about it for awhile, Lizzibeth's First Birthday Bash happened this past Saturday down at the Whiskey Bar. It was great to finally meet the bloggers that I've been stalking on instagram in person. It's actually creepy how much we know about each other's lives without actually meeting. The Internet is weird.

Anyway, Lizzi organized one heck of a party! Down to the shopping, appetizers and candy table - it was so fun to be a part of! All of her hard work was definitely worth it. My sexy thumb even got to make an appearance. Knife - 1, Kim - 0.

canadian tuxedo

shirt: martin + osa (thanks Ben!) tank: H&M jeans: Gap shoes: Target necklace: Madewell watch: Marc Jacobs photos: Mann Frau

Oh oh oh! Can't wait for warmer weather so I can bust this tank out solo. I love the minor, delicate details of this tank: the thin straps, the back, the hi-lo feature. It will look great with jeans, a pair of trousers, or a skirt. I got to secretly raid my brother-in-law, Ben, closet to wear this chambray shirt over it. It definitely dresses it down a bit, keeping it more casual. I will probably wear it out before Summer even comes.

Do you have plans for Saturday night? No? Cool. That means you have time to come down to The Whiskey Bar in Milwaukee to celebrate Lizzibeth's first birthday! I shared a few details about the party in my post last week. Come check it out and stay for a few drinks! It's going to be a good time.

dress: madewell jeans: Gap shoes: Target watch: marc jacobs hat: H&M photos: Mann Frau

Mark it. It's Lizzibeth's First Birthday Party and you're invited to come celebrate! Head to the Whiskey Bar - March 8th at 7pm for some shopping // appetizers // drink specials // & much more!

If that doesn't entice you right there, come see some local bloggers strut their stuff on the runway while showing off those Lizzibeth gems. I'll be there, not drinking whiskey, but something probably full of hops. It's going to be great. (I already want to purchase the leggings that I'll be wearing .. so good!)

I'm taking an extended weekend to head to Minnesota to see my niece, Madeline. I'm so excited - she's so cute! I could probably talk about her all day; I can't get enough of her. Yeah, I can already tell I am going to be that crazy Aunt.

sweater: H&M jeans: J.Crew shoes: Target necklace: J.Crew watch: marc jacobs photos: Mann Frau

White. A complete contrast to Tuesday's post of an all black outfit. I'm spicing it up for you a bit today - I hope you enjoy it.

I cannot even concentrate today! This morning I got the most wonderful call from my Mom to tell me that my sister-in-law was in labor. It was a total surprise, as she wasn't due for another month. 45 minutes later, a healthy 5 lb baby girl emerged into the world. Madeline Mae, you are so loved; I can't wait to meet you!
